Some news items from this week:
- CMIS: As Larry Cannell noted in his December 10 post, Alfresco and Joomla are starting to use the CMIS standard, which allows diverse content management systems to share content. Unlike JSR 170 (Java-based), CMIS is platform neutral, and so hopefully will have greater applicability.
- WebTrends: A web analytics company based in Portland, OR, the company has been working to rebuild itself. The market leader for many years, it has been eclipsed by Omniture. In August it appointed a new CEO, in late November it hired a new Vice President of Marketing, and this week it announced a new Vice President of Products.
