We are an IT offshoring company. We needed a robust email system for our employees scattered across locations in India, and who would often be travelling to client locations in India. After initially considering Exchange, we decided the costs would be too high. We chose HyperOffice, a hosted business email service, because they offered integrated collaboration features as well. All in all, I would say it was a great decision because we got all the relevant features we could get from Exchange (mail; shared contacts, calendars, tasks; Outlook) and additional features which would have been hard to implement on Exchange (mobile mail, document collaboration).
